ASA Club and County Conference 2008

For the attention of all ASA competition promoters

Rumours have been circulating that County Championships and Licensed Open Meets
must appoint only Licensed Swimming Officials. This is incorrect.

There is no requirement for any competition, Open Meet, County or Regional Championship to
use only those Swimming Officials that are licensed.

In 2008, it is anticipated that only Licensed Officials will be accepted at ASA and British Swimming National Championships. Whilst it is not anticipated that any similar condition will be placed on any other Regional, County Championship or Open Meets, organisers are encouraged to recognise the value of appointing Licensed Officials where possible to promote a level of consistency of knowledge and expertise.
